Yamaha AEX 1500

When I got into recording the both the amp and the acoustic sound from an archtop, I became interested in this Yamaha model. It was designed for UK Jazz man Martin Taylor to achieve exactly this in a gig setting. Mr Taylor must have good taste, as this 16 inch flamed maple archtop with floating electric AND acoustic bridge pickup plays like a real classic.

Around that same time, I got nervous about taking my vintage 125 on international flights so I figured I would take this Yammy, since then she has travelled widely. She still surprises many purists with her unique sound and good looks.

I was playing her when I won the 2005 IBC award in Memphis, and I've continued to play her heavily. I really had no idea I would become as attached to this guitar as I have, so I am delighted to appear promoting this model for Yamaha.
