LATEST NEWS FROM JIMI ...

It is now the year of the tiger, and it looks like some things have come full circle.

I am well and truly back playing a Les Paul again, and enjoying the endless sustain or those guitars ... and along with my own ‘Electric Blues Machine’ gigs, I am also back playing guitar in my former band ‘The Screaming Jets’.

The Jets are about to embark on a national tour opening for UK legends ‘Status Quo’, who are of course old favorites of mine ... a cover of Quo’s ‘Down the Dustpipe’ can be heard on my new album ‘Electric Mojo Machine’. Check out my gig guide for ‘Screaming Jets’ shows and Jimi’s Blues Machine shows.

may get a bit crazy this year as I juggle both, so be sure to double check with venues in case of last minute changes!

My apologies also for some lost email, please send email to info@jimihocking.com (the jimi@jimihocking.com address has been out of action as I change my ISP).

That's all for now, see you out there somewhere! Jimi .

ELECTRIC MOJO MACHINE

‘Electric Mojo Machine’ is my 12th album - the material is decidedly electric and brings back elements of my crazy ‘Jimi the human’ lead playing along with some cool blues sensitivity.

This time around I have Erik Chess on drums, and the family playing along with Kevin Hocking on piano and Keely Hocking doing some backing vocals.

It has been recorded at my Biscuit Boy studios, and mixed by my pal David Briggs (former LRB Guitarist and studio ace) at The Production Workshop.

PS: I'll be playing a bunch of new songs from the record at my electric shows, so come on down and see the ol' Gold Top in action! And check the MP3 page for a free tune from the album, Big City Blues!!

CD SALES ...

Check out the DISCOGRAPHY page for info on my CD releases. CD’s continue to be available on the web through Somersault Music. My blues albums are available in stores via the folks at Black Market Music … and at gigs, of course!

PS: check out Basement Discs in the block arcade, and most JB HiFi stores keep stock - look in the ‘Blues’ section. ‘Blue Mandolin’, ‘Give Jimi Some Love’ and ‘Blue Guitar’ can all be found or ordered in (for other titles, folk or rock albums, see Somersault).
